Resolution of the 20th Annual General Meeting Transparency International Malaysia (TI-M)

Press-Release

At the 20th Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on 24th March 2018 (Saturday) at Royal Selangor Club Dataran, Transparency International Malaysia (TI-M) members had unanimously passed the following Resolution: “It is hereby resolved that TI-Malaysia views with grave concern the continuing fall in the ranking of Malaysia in Transparency International’s Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) 2017. TI-Malaysia is deeply perturbed that the powers that be are still in denial with the wide spread corruption in the country, as reflected in the CPI, and despite all its protests, have avoided addressing the crux of corruption. We, TI-Malaysia members unequivocally support the objectivity of its CPI and the work of the Executive Committee of TI Malaysia headed by its President in pointing out the possible causes of corruption and urgently calls upon the government to directly address the many issues of corruption seriously instead of rationalizing away these issues including forming its own index. TI-M and its members stand by to work with the government to eradicate the many evils of corruption.  There must be No Impunity.”
