Events - Anti-Bribery Policy Development and Implementation

Transparency International Malaysia (TI-M), in collaboration with The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the Sarawak Integrity and Ombudsman Unit (UNIONS), successfully organized a two-day workshop titled "Anti-Bribery Policy Development and Implementation" on 16 and 17 April 2025 in Miri, Sarawak.
The workshop aimed to enhance participants' skills in crafting robust anti-bribery policies, establishing effective compliance procedures, setting clear expectations and prohibited practices, and fostering a strong culture of compliance.

The event was graced by The Honorable Dato' Murshid Diraja Dr. Juanda Bin Jaya, Deputy Minister in the Department of the Premier of Sarawak (Integrity and Ombudsman). We are profoundly grateful for his continued and invaluable support towards our work in Sarawak, which reinforces the importance of combating corruption across the region.

Two distinguished trainers led the sessions, Ms Nurirdzuana Ismail, Secretary-General of Transparency International Malaysia, and Hajah S. Normalis Abd Samad, an Integrity and Risk Management expert.

The workshop comprehensively covered key aspects of anti-bribery governance, including the design, implementation, auditing, reporting, and corrective actions for anti-bribery systems. Participants were also introduced to ISO 37001 and international frameworks. Participants were equipped with practical tools and knowledge to strengthen their organizations' transparency, compliance, and ethical practices through engaging case studies, group audit exercises, and collaborative discussions.

We hope the workshop has been a meaningful experience for all participants. May the insights and skills gained will be applied in their daily work, leading to higher-quality outputs and strengthened integrity in their professional practices.
