On 30 October 2024, Transparency International Malaysia (TI-M) had the privilege of assisting our Corporate Member, FGV Holdings Berhad, as a co-organizer for their successful Integrity Day. The event attracted over 200 participants, including FGV’s senior management, employees, partners, and TI-M’s corporate members.
We would like to congratulate FGV on the launch of The Second Review of FGV's Organisational Anti-Corruption Plan (OACP). We commend FGV for their dedication and diligence in developing and refining this crucial plan. As part of this endeavour, TI-M was pleased to support FGV's mission to strengthen Conflict of Interest management, fostering a culture of integrity and ethical practices within the organization. 👏
FGV's Integrity Day program featured two sessions, starting with a short lecture by Tan Sri Hj Abu Kassim, Chairman of the Perdana International Anti-Corruption Foundation (PIACCF), who addressed the theme, "What is the Meaning of Integrity?" and provided a brief overview to Conflict of Interest while sharing his professional experiences as well. The second session was a dynamic panel discussion on Conflict of Interest and Related Party Transactions. The discussion was expertly moderated by Mr. Suzari Said, Group Chief Governance Officer of FGV, and featured distinguished panellists:
1) Dr Muhammad Mohan, President of Transparency International Malaysia
2) Puan Suhailah Mohamed Abdulla Mohamed, Chief Integrity and Assurance Officer at SD Guthrie
3) Puan Nadia Hanim, Deputy Group Integrity and Governance Officer at Bank Islam Berhad
Each panellist offered insightful commentary on best practices for managing conflicts of interest and fostering a culture of integrity within their respective organizations.
We trust that FGV has achieved its objectives from the event, and we wholeheartedly support their continued commitment to enhancing internal integrity and governance. We look forward to seeing the successful implementation of the OACP and will continue to support FGV’s ongoing efforts in building a culture of transparency and accountability within the organization.
