ELECTION OF DEPUTY PRESIDENT OF TI – MALAYSIA TO THE BOARD OF TRANSPARENCY INTERNATIONAL – BERLIN
At its 12th Annual Members Meeting held in Berlin, Germany on November 12 and 13, 2005, Mr. Lee Chong San was elected to the Board of Directors of Transparency International. Transparency International, the Global Coalition Against Corruption with its Secretariat based in Berlin.
Mr. Lee is currently the Deputy President of the Malaysian Chapter of Transparency International (The Malaysian Society for Transparency and Integrity).
Concurrent with his election to the Board, Mr. Lee was nominated to chair the Board’s Audit Committee.
Mr. Lee had worked in the oil and gas industry in various positions in the USA and Malaysia and was the Financial Controller of EXXONMOBIL before he retired. He had worked for the Government before that. He volunteered his time and effort to the Malaysian Chapter of this movement since then.
His election to the Board is a recognition of the work and effort done by the Malaysian Chapter in combating corruption in Malaysia.
