PRESS STATEMENT, 3 June 2014, Kuala Lumpur – Transparency International Malaysia (TI-M) received a visit from the Chairman and CEO of PSMB over TI-M’s recent statement pertaining to the exposure of an alleged scandal involving the award of a contract under the HRDF’s Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Programme.
Prof. Dato’ Abdul Razak bin Abdul, PMSB Chairman and its current CEO, Dato’ Haji Omar bin Haji Awang, met with President of TI-M, Dato Akhbar Satar in response to TI-M’s recent press statement number 44 – TI-M views with great concern the exposure of an alleged scandal involving the Human Resource Development Fund, issued on May 12, 2014.
The pair explained the depth and breadth of the points raised in TI-M’s press statement surrounding the alleged inappropriateness in the award of a contract to an applicant company and the sudden departure of PSMB’s then CEO, barely eight months into his service.
As the matter has been reported to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC); TI-M will continue to play its role as anti-corruption watchdog and allow MACC investigations to take its course.
