8 November 2023, Transparency International Malaysia (TI-M) in collaboration with United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) organized the last of the five workshops on Decoding Section 17A: Impacts and Insights on Corporate Liability. The last workshop was held at Klana Resort, Seremban, Negeri Sembilan.
Overall, we managed to organize a total of five workshops on Section 17A in four different states, Kuala Lumpur, Johor, Penang, Sarawak and Negeri Sembilan. As for this workshop in Negeri Sembilan, our Trainers, Ms Nurirdzuana and Mr Balbeer Singh emphasized on Section 17A and how commercial organizations can be prosecuted and punished if they allow their employees to commit bribes to obtain a project or to benefit from the commercial organization.
We look forward to expand our work in other pressing corruption issues to ensure that the Malaysian Industries are well equipped to fight off corruption practices within their organizations!
