Forest Watch Awareness Programme

Forest Watch Awareness Programme
FGI Events

We are pleased to announce that Transparency International-Malaysia’s Forest Governance Integrity Project (TI-M-FGI) is organizing a Forest Watch Awareness Programme and an Introduction to the New ForestWatch Mobile Application involving talks on Forest Governance and Forest Monitoring Applications.

The Forest Watch Initiative is developed to involve the public to become eyes and ears of the forest through monitoring using Geospatial Technology (satellite imagery, aerial photography and GIS 3D globe) to assess forest cover and report irregularities through its website www.timalaysia-forestwatch.org.my.

The TI-M-FGI has been organizing capacity building programmes on Forest Monitoring Using Geospatial Technology to enhance stakeholder participation in forest governance and to promote environmental stewardship in Malaysia. This also provides an avenue for environmental NGOs to participate in forest related activities, in addition to enhancing awareness on forestry and strengthen stakeholder networking.

Details of the event are as follows:

Date: 7 September 2013 (Saturday)

Time: 8.30 am – 1.00pm

Venue: Ayer Hitam Forest Reserve, Puchong

We look forward to your presence and continued support to enhance forest governance and anti corruption in Malaysia.
